Grundarfjörður is a town located in the northern part of Snæfellsnes. On march 31st 1940, HG (Hraðfrystihús Grundarfjarðar) was formed by a number of individuals in the near area. In 1995 HG and Fiskiðjan Skagfirðingur were merged into what is now known as FISK Seafood. In Grundarfjörður there is a technologically advanced shrimp factory with 25 employees. Majority of the products is sold to the UK.
