Skagaströnd

Skagaströnd is a town in the eastern part of Húnaflói bay. On december 8th, 1968 Skagfirðingur hf. was formed by 112 local people. On the 1st of january 2005 Skagstrendingur and Fiskiðjan Skagfirðingur merged into FISK Seafood.

In Skagaströnd there is production in both fresh and salted fish, that is mostly sold to Europe. Currently there are 20-25 people working in the fish factory in Skagaströnd.
